The DESIGNED package delivers cinematic monster sounds of various sized animals existing only in legend or on the big silver screen, such as dragons, mammoths, sabre toothed cats, great bears, basilisks and more.
Each beast features an attack, death, idle, pain and scream sound with four different variations each, giving you a diverse, yet instantly identifiable and implementable set of monster sounds to set to your target medium.
We recorded a high amount of specific animals in Europe and Africa that promised the key sounds suitable to build impressive, characteristic fictional monsters from. Additionally, our sound designers used their own vocal chords, throats and mouths to the extreme, creating menacing and beastly monster sound elements. Finally, we found unconventional ways to emulate creatures with uncanny similarity using various props, objects and instruments.Most of the recordings are recorded with a Sanken CO-100K microphone, which offers a frequency response up to 100kHz for highly processable recordings.
Teaming up with BioWare™, developer behind the Mass Effect™ and Dragon Age™ series, we had the privilege of working with the experts on lifelike creatures in video games and profiting from the high standards stretching across this project.
While MONSTERS & BEASTS can be used for all kinds of creature sound design (including aliens), it was specifically targeted at the mythical and real beasts accompanying human and pre-human history and fiction. This gives the library a grounded, familiar, even an overwhelming feel, like an undiscovered part of our legacy.
